About the Artwork

Too Many Flowers comes from John Robert Hermann’s Milieu series (2015), a body of work reflecting the times in which we live.

The title began quite literally: the composition was created with what might be considered too many flowers. From that abundance emerged a broader idea. Beauty can be universally recognized, while attraction remains personal. No single face, figure, silhouette, or style can represent every ideal. Each person carries a distinctive combination worthy of recognition and admiration.

Adapted from Hermann’s original fine artwork, Too Many Flowers moves beyond the frame and becomes wearable art.

On the Tea Dress, the colorful composition follows the wrap-inspired silhouette, flounced armholes, waist tie, and asymmetrical flounce, changing with the wearer’s movement.

Each dress is individually crafted for its future owner at our production partner’s London workshop after the order is placed. It is offered in Fashion Crepe, Butterfly Smooth Crepe, or pure silk satin, finished with satin binding. Its layer-friendly design can be worn on its own or paired with a camisole or fitted top for additional coverage.
